who comes here

Solace is a small practice for people who hold it together all day and fray quietly at night. The capable ones everyone leans on. Couples who love each other and keep landing in the same fight. If you've been carrying something for a long time, this hour is yours.

what we work on

what brings people here

anxiety & overthinking

The 3am loops, the bracing for something that never quite arrives. We work on what the worry is protecting, not just how to quiet it.

life transitions

A new city, a new baby, a career that ended or should. Therapy is a good place to work out who you are on the other side of a big change.

couples

For the argument you keep having and the conversation you keep avoiding. I work with couples who want to understand each other more than they want to win.

grief & loss

There is no wrong timeline and no five neat stages. We make room for what you're carrying so it doesn't have to run the house.

burnout

When rest stops working and competence starts to feel like a trap. We look at what the exhaustion is trying to tell you, beyond your calendar.

self-worth

The inner voice with the megaphone and the impossible standards. We turn the volume down and ask whose voice it was in the first place.

no maze, no waitlist limbo

how it works

1

reach out

Send a few lines by email. No intake forms, no portal, nothing to get right.

2

a free 15-minute call

We talk, you ask anything, and we both check the fit. If I'm not the right therapist, I'll say so and point you toward someone who is.

3

weekly sessions

Fifty minutes, same day and time each week, in the office or on video. Steady enough to build something on.

PhD, LMFT · licensed marriage and family therapist · fifteen years in practice

I became a therapist because I've never met a problem that lived in one person alone. Problems live between people, and between the life you have and the one you quietly planned. Fifteen years in, that is still the work: getting the whole picture on the table so it can change.

My approach is evidence-based and warm, but not soft. I trained in emotionally focused work with couples and acceptance-based approaches for anxiety and change. In the room, that means I ask real questions, tell you what I'm noticing, and check honestly that the work is moving. You will never be nodded at for fifty minutes.

"Most people don't need fixing. They need one hour a week where the whole story can be true at once."
before you decide

what a first session looks like

You won't lie on a couch, and there's no test to pass. We sit down, there's tea, and you tell me what's going on at whatever pace works. I ask questions, and you can ask them right back, including about me and how I work.

By the end, we name together what we're working toward. That's the whole first session. You don't need to be in crisis, and you don't need the right words. Arriving is the entire assignment.

  • Nothing to prepare, no paperwork before we meet
  • Fifty minutes, mostly your story, at your pace
  • Video first sessions work the same way, from any quiet room
  • If we're not the right fit, I'll help you find who is

fees & insurance

individual therapy

$165 · 50 minutes

One weekly hour that is entirely yours. In person in Fernhill or by secure video.

couples therapy

$210 · 75 minutes

Longer on purpose. Two histories need more than fifty minutes.

sliding scale

reduced fee · limited spots

A few spots are held at a reduced fee for clients who need them. If cost is the barrier, please ask. The spots exist for exactly that.

I'm an out-of-network provider. You'll receive a monthly superbill to submit to your insurance, and many plans reimburse a good portion of the fee. The 15-minute intro call is always free, and you will never be left guessing about cost.
